CHROMOSOME X
Several authors have found an association with Chromosome X and infantile autism (Cohen et al, 1991; Petit et al,1996).
All subjects with fagile-X exhibited a blunted TSH response to thyrotropin releasing hormone (TRH) showing presence of subtle dysfunction within the hypothalamic-pituitary-thyroid axis.
Elevated baseline prolactin levels were also observed among the fragile-X subjects (Bregman et al, 1990).
